Community Life 3 and 4

We have developed two resources for Citizenship at Key Stages 3 and 4. It is designed to encourage students to take a greater role in determining the direction of transport policies within a local authority. Along with teachers’ notes and worksheets, the pack also includes a CD-ROM with background information on a range of issues that affect transport policy.

Developed for Buckinghamshire County Council.

 

All About ...

Essex County Council produces and distributes specifically targeted road safety packs for parents and children at key stages of children's lives: age 5, 7 and 11. We developed a pack for 14 year-olds and their parents.

Staying Alive - a resource for Irish schools

Safer routes to school

In association with Colin Buchanan and Partners, we researched and developed Staying Alive for the National Safety Council Dublin.

Designed for Transition Year pupils (15-16 year-olds), its principal aims are to -

  • explore the wider issues of road usage from both a personal and community perspective
  • raise road safety issues within the context of students' personal decision making
  • engage students in a consideration of the issues
  • promote safer attitudes towards road usage prior to young people starting to learn to drive

Copies of this 145pp ring-bound A4 resource have been provided to all second level schools in Ireland. About two-thirds of these schools provide a formal Transition Year Course.
